Now multiply that emotion — that honor — by, say, 50,000. You will be approaching the mental state of an 11-year-old girl chosen to dance on-stage with Justin Bieber.
Such is the blessed life of Skye Parsons, of Greece. submitted a video of her dancing to a Bieber song and was chosen as one of four mere mortals to take the stage at his concert Tuesday at Buffalo's First Niagara Center.
"This is just a dream come true for her," Parsons' mother, Amy Parsons, said Monday. "And of course all her friends want to come."
His Biebness is selecting local dancers to join him for a number at every stop on his current tour. Entrants study choreography on his website then submit their home videos on YouTube.
Skye may be young, but she knows how to keep a beat. She has been dancing since age 3 and just last weekend won first place at the national Hall of Fame Dance Challenge in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She lives in Greece but attends Hilton schools.
"I'm really psyched and really happy," she said. "I've (danced in front of) a lot of people, but not this many."
She's spending this week picking an outfit and practicing her steps. She doesn't know for sure, though, how much time she'll actually get to spend in Bieber's beatific presence.
"We watched some shows on YouTube and he'll give (the guest dancers) a hug or high-five or something," Amy Parsons said. "So we told her: 'Don't let go of him.'"
